Get a life, dont troll, dont judge !!!

Don’t Troll, Just Live & Let Live !!

Okay, I know, I am a little  late and many of you might think , I have just woken up from my stupor to write about something that is so last week but if you hear me out, you might understand the magnitude of the problem. In fact, you may even feel that the problem is as relevant today as it was yesterday . It has been brewing for sometime, like a storm in a teacup ! So, kindly bear with me as I vent out. Intrestingly, it is not about me or anything personal, but it bothers me .
So here goes: I fail to fathom, why do people troll celebrities and especially female celebrities at the drop of a hat! Why do they consider it their natural birth right to rip people apart behind the convenient shield of a computer screen? How can some people use the anonymity  which a social media platform provides to disgrace and troll women with such alarming intensity?

The frequency of these virulent cyber trolling is growing by the minute, almost every day I come across such disparaging posts and contemptuous comments targeting actresses, models, rock stars and sometimes just ordinary women like you and me !

Why do people attack Esha Gupta if she chooses to flaunt her beautifully shot pictures from a lingerie photo shoot. I mean, the lady in question is an actress and a model. She is in a profession which demands glamourous photo shoots. If she shares it with her followers ad fans on social media platforms, does that make her characterless? She has represented the country at a prestigious beauty pageants, she is an  ex miss India  International  and most importantly a free citizen of this country like all of  us which gives her the right to do as she pleases and wear what she wants . She should be able to exercise this right without being judged, criticised and condemned. I will refrain from sharing the virulent remarks which the hapless lady has been subjected to. Sadly, it was not just the opposite sex but even women who criticised her photographs and even cast aspersions on her integrity and character! I mean, do these people know Esha Gupta, or have they grown up with her?
We had barely recovered from these scathing comments that Kalki Koechlin met a similar fate when she shared an aesthetically shot but alas a revealing picture of herself.
I mean, if it bothers them so  much, don’t look! Why would one choose to look, lech, ogle and then finaly spew venom and pass sweeping statements about people you have never met or interacted with based on a photograph or a professional shoot ?
Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra were also criticised for their choice of clothes at different times . I mean, the trolls did not spare even an Indian Icon like Priyanka Chopra who is currently at the top of her game .

Does the length of her dress matter even while she was seated across the Prime Minister ? What matters is that she is sitting there, with her head held high and mind you, she sis sitting cross legged !  That woman has achieved more than all those people passing judgments. She has transgressed the boundaries of colour, caste creed, culture &  nationality and firmly ensconced  herself in millions of hearts . Can’t we just feel proud for her and applaud her achievements. If the people  commenting were budding designers or stylists, there would have some semblance of sense or some method to the madness but  no, the choice of her outfit seems to be of paramount importance for all and sundry.

Honestly, these women are in a business which needs them to look a certain way and they are doing a fabulous job of it.And it is not just about individual fashion choices, or frivolous things like make up & clothes size, just about anything & everything makes celebrities a vulnerable target for haters .If you thought this is reflective of the inherent human tendency to judge and tag people , more so if they are famous and well known or simply an expression of  hatred and bitterness of  the have nots against the haves of this world, then pray , tell me why was Lisa Haydon not spared either, when she recently  shared a beautiful pic of her breastfeeding her child. Lisa Haydon was criticised for revealing her bosom and the fact that she was feeding her child did not deter the haters. I would like remind people that the primary function of that particular anatomical part in question is just that. There is nothing wrong or morally incorrect in the act of feeding an infant.

It beats me how the same people can spend hours peering at their phone screen ogling at the surgically enhanced bust of Sunny Leone . Coming back to the country’s hot favourite, another convenient contradiction is that while Sunny Leone who is the most searched celebrity on google , she is also not spared by the trolls .She was strongly condemned recently when she adopted a baby girl. Her profession in the past does not take away her right to adopt a child just like anyone else . Or in anyway diminish her maternal instinct. Why should everyone feel obliged to advice the woman on how she should lead her life

Social Media Platforms are not just mediums to flaunt your language skills or display your wit. My humble submission, stop indulging in these petty virulent attacks on the internet just because no one is confronting you. Freedom of speech has never  been  so badly misused, Internet has given people anonymity and broken all barriers. Honestly, if you don’t like certain people , or their  pictures, don’t see them or unfollow them. Don’t pass pass lewd and insulting remarks about a woman , just because she does not do what you think she should ? It is a free world , my friend. Live and let live.
